Forecast Washington is the definitive portal for the Evergreen State's weather and climate — built to make the official National Weather Service forecast fast, clean, and highway-clear for all 39 counties, from the Pacific coast and Puget Sound across the Cascades to the Palouse.
No state has a sharper weather divide: the wet, mild, gray west with its rain and atmospheric rivers, and the dry, continental east with its heat, cold and wildfire — split down the middle by the Cascade crest, with Mount Rainier and the volcanoes rising above. Forecast Washington is being built to tell that whole story — county by county, region by region.
The look borrows from the American Interstate system — the reflective paper, the green guide signs, the blue service signs, the brown recreation signs, and the red-white-and-blue route shields — set in Overpass, the typeface drawn from the Highway Gothic lettering on those signs. Washington takes a cool evergreen-mist paper and a Cascade blue accent — its own note in the network.
Washington has two live state-line neighbors: Forecast Oregon across the Columbia, which shares the Gorge, the Cascade crest and every storm that comes ashore, and Forecast Idaho across the Palouse on I-90 — both tinted in their own accent on the hero map and clickable from it.
